Travelogue - Koh Samui
I was in Koh Samui for a 2nd time from June 23rd – 27th, 2010. The 1st time was long ago, with Berjaya Air but now I’m with Fireflyz. Last time, I stayed at Impiana Resort in Chaweng Noi, and explored the Island with car. But this time, I just want to be a beach bum and stayed at Al’s Resort, Chaweng. I love the beach and the ocean so much that I just want to be there all the time.
As soon as I arrived and passed the immigration, I was stopped by so many sales guys, to offer so many things. I took the free local sim card, coz I need to make calls to home and I only need to top up at 7-eleven. Another offer was a free airport transfer to and fro and Vouchers worth Baht 4000 for meal & spa and the trap was I only need to attend a talk at Marriott’s Vacation Club, somewhere in Chaweng. I don’t have any problem with that, coz I have plenty of time. But for me it was a good offer.
I booked hotel from www.agoda.com but once I reached the hotel, I don’t like it, so decided to change to another hotel from the same management. It’s Al’s Resort, new, clean and beach front. I love it, even though I have to pay extra.
The plan was to be a beach bum so; I spent most of the time on the beach and in the sea. Jogging in the morning, than breakfast, later jump into the sea and within a day, I turn really sun tanned but not burning. I’m very lucky coz my skin not easily burn with sun tanning.
I bought a tailor made jacket and a few tailor made shirts, and it’s ready within few days. Nice and simple and the shop own by a Nepalese or are they just the worker. Not sure. I had a few massage sessions and I have a plenty of voucher to spend. I enjoyed the night life in Koh Samui. It’s was very relaxing. I had a chance to watched world cup matches and some shows. On the 26th of June, was a Full Moon party at Koh Phangan, but decided not to go, coz my flight was early in the morning on the 27th. There was a boat accident and one Malaysian reported died. My family at home was so scared when they didn’t hear anything from me that morning. Actually I didn’t hear the news until landed at Subang Airport.
Chaweng Beach, the sea, the sand was so beautiful. It’s a must to visit for those beach lovers.
